All I wanted to do was come up with a title for this article.....and my mind wandered.

As every male pool player knows (and a bunch of ladies are already aware) this game has so much sexual inuendo surrounding almost every comment that it could be embarassing... "nice rack...nice shaft....tight pocket...hold the cue gently as if you were.....stroke it smoothly....am I doing it right, everything goes in but the balls"..and the list goes on.

I wanted to write an article about another aspect affecting the growth of pool in Nova Scotia. I wandered down to Tommy Guns in Windsor last Monday night and what do I see......a dozen ladies learning to play the game or improve their game! That Bedford is one sneaky son of a b...! One guy...twelve women.....I hate him! The ladies seemed to be having a blast. All levels were there from first time holding a cue to those learning to move the cueball around the table. A few drinks, a few laughs and the end result is MORE players finding out how much fun this game can be for all. Every Monday night at Tommy Guns is free pool for the ladies with instructions for any and all who want to come out.

So, back to my title for the article - The Ladies Are Coming...nope, scratch that. - The Girls Are Working On Their Stroke...nope, scratch that - Back when there were fewer ladies playing there was a saying if you lost to one of them that "you got girled". More and more and more and more that saying doesn't even apply because there are so many very strong lady players it is becoming the norm..not the exception.....and it is only going to get Worse???....Better?....whatever...
